Medical volunteer program 

(Medical professionals can volunteer with our local community health centre’s, school clinics and dispensary in our priority health program areas ,HIV/AIDS, adolescent sexual reproductive health, and community health (mitigation)

Program Objectives:*

1. *Enhance Healthcare Services in Rural Communities:* Strengthen the quality and accessibility of health services for underserved populations in rural areas.
2. *Promote Health Education Among Disadvantaged Groups:* Deliver informative health education programs aimed at improving health knowledge and practices within underprivileged communities.

3. *Support Rural Healthcare Facilities:* Provide assistance and resources to alleviate the burden on understaffed healthcare centers in rural locations.
4. *Improve Service Delivery by Traditional Healthcare Providers:* Work collaboratively with traditional healthcare practitioners to enhance their services and integrate complementary health practices.
5. *Empower Volunteers through Practical Experience:* Offer volunteers hands-on opportunities to learn about innovative healthcare practices and first aid techniques, even in resource-limited settings.
6. *Strengthen Volunteer-Community Connections:* Foster lasting relationships between volunteers and local communities to facilitate ongoing health support and assistance.

*Volunteer Responsibilities:*

• Assist with patient care for both out-patients and in-patients.
• Change dressings and observe and record patient recovery progress.
• Conduct basic health assessments and vital sign checks.
• Serve meals to inpatients to ensure proper nutrition.
• Aid in providing first aid for minor injuries and health concerns.
• Shadow healthcare professionals to learn about patient diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Discuss and suggest treatment options based on observations.
• Participate in minor or more complex surgical procedures under supervision.
• Educate community members on sanitation, hygiene, food safety, and nutritional practices.

Orphanage programs 

(The orphans range in age from a few hours to two years, with no known parents or relatives. We are dedicated to providing these children with love, security, medical care and education and a Home)

– *Improve Healthcare Access*: Ensure that children have access to essential healthcare services, promoting overall health and well-being.

 Volunteer Responsibilities

– *Educational Support*: Assist children in learning conversational English and completing their educational assignments.

– *Daily Supervision*: Supervise and guide the children in personal care tasks such as cleaning and dressing.

– *Nutrition and Care*: Prepare meals and ensure that children receive adequate nutrition and care.

– *Engaging Activities*: Design, teach, and organize educational and environmental games that promote learning and development.

– *Childcare Duties*: Provide babysitting services, caring for younger children and helping them develop essential skills such as toilet training.

– *Community Engagement*: Participate in administrative and outreach work to strengthen community ties and support for the children.

– *Creative Projects*: Contribute to community beautification efforts through painting and other artistic projects, enhancing the environment for the children.

Sports development program

Aims to give sports training as well as life skills in schools and communities. Also build play grounds for children in particular schools in which they volunteer. Volunteers assist local coaches with training or lead their own classes in a variety of sports in schools, local sport centers, and clubs)

Volunteer Activities Overview*

Volunteers will engage in fostering a love for sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, and more among children in schools and the local community. Volunteers will assist in coaching sessions, coordinating skill development activities, and organizing friendly competitions for athletes of all ages and skill levels.

*Accommodation and Meals*

Volunteers are typically placed with local host families, offering an immersive cultural experience. Meals are generally provided three times a day—breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, in some cases, depending on the specific project location, volunteers might receive only two meals daily. We recommend that future volunteers prepare for this possibility by planning accordingly.

*Items to Bring for Support*

Volunteers are encouraged to bring along sports equipment to enhance the experience, such as jerseys, goalkeeper gloves, soccer balls, cleats, whistles, and other athletic supplies.

*Project Duration*

Our programs are open year-round, with a minimum commitment of just 2-3 weeks. Whether you can volunteer for a short stint or an extended period, your contribution will make a significant impact!

Teaching/Educational program

 (Africa Nature Tours and Safaris offers a wide variety of teaching placements where volunteers can work in nursery, primary as well as secondary school placements depending on the suitability and comfort level)

*Volunteer’s Responsibilities*

– *Prepare Educational Resources*: Design and develop lesson plans and teaching materials tailored to the needs of the students.

– *Organize Learning Activities*: Arrange and distribute learning aids and materials to facilitate smooth lesson delivery.

– *Implement Diverse Teaching Methods*: Engage students through a variety of instructional techniques, including hands-on demonstrations, group discussions, and traditional lectures.

– *Collaborate with Educators*: Work closely with other teachers and supervisors to share insights, strategies, and feedback on teaching practices.

– *Evaluate Student Progress*: Assess and monitor students’ academic performance through assignments, tests, and participation in class activities.

– *Facilitate Recreational Activities*: Organize and lead indoor and outdoor games to support the holistic development of students.

*Program Duration and Availability*

The Teaching Program is open to volunteers throughout the year, with the exception of April, August, and December, when local schools observe holidays. The academic year in Kenya is divided into three terms: the first term runs from January to late March, the second term from early May to late July, and the third term from early September to late November. Volunteers can choose to participate for a minimum duration of three weeks, with the option to extend their involvement up to one year, based on their availability and interests

Conservation Program 

(Enjoy planting trees, grass in school compounds, community forests and also engaging in the daily community Agriculture farm lands and help sustain some of the community most inspiring, sought. Share your passion for the environment and outdoors with like-minded people throughout your stay).

Program Duration

Program is open to volunteers all year round. Volunteers can spend from two weeks onwards on the program. Who can volunteer? Any volunteer aged 18 years and above can participate regardless of their profession. However, specialized skills and expertise shall be used accordingly. Participants should have a positive attitude, be ready to adopt and enjoy simple living conditions.

Volunteers will have an opportunity to work in the following areas;

• Tree planting activities
• Community clean-ups
• Conservation of water wet lands and water catchment areas
• conservation of biodiversity
• Volunteers will work in environmental conservation with community members

Construction and Renovation program

 (Based in rural Uganda communities &, the Construction and Renovation project offers volunteers the special opportunity to work alongside local people to help improve the infrastructure in small rural communities. This project focuses on the construction and renovation of orphanages, clinics, community centers, resident facilities and schools.)

Evangelism program

 (We have many areas for ministry opportunities like church planting, Leadership Training Development, Children’s Ministries, Women’s Ministries, Prayer for the Sick, Literature Evangelism, participating in the ministry of local churches, teaching Sunday school to youth groups, participating in music fellowship during church services, working to improve conditions in the local community through home construction, environmental health education, house visitations etc).
