6 Days Gorilla safaris in Bwindi & Primates Tours
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls
You will be picked up from your hotel.Make your journey through the famous Luweero triangle. En route lunch stopover in Masindi town. Proceed to the beautiful Murchison falls there after, hiking to the top of the falls. Enjoy the breathtaking view, complete with a rainbow scene. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.
Day 2: Launch Cruise & Game Drive
After an early breakfast at your hotel, go on board for an early morning game drive after your breakfast on the southern banks of the Nile. You’re likely to have a view of the variety of the savannah woodland birds like the saddle-billed Stork and the woodland kingfishers, elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffe and the Uganda kob.
After your lunch, take a game viewing launch cruise on the Nile. Possible sighting include the crocodiles, waterbucks, giraffe, and the hippopotamus. Dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After a morning breakfast, you will drive to Fort portal town with lunch en route in Hoima. The journey will reward you with spectacular views of the magnificent scenery as you drive through the traditional homesteads and farms on your way to Kibale. Reach Fort Portal in the evening and then proceed to Kibale Forest National Park. Dinner overnight at the lodge/camp.
Day 4: Chimp tracking and Transfer to Bwindi National Park
Early rise for breakfast at your lodge, you will go for the lifetime Chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale forest. You will first report to the Park Headquarters at Kanyachu for a briefing about the chimp do’s and don’t’s by an UWA official and then later go for the morning chimpanzee tracking experience. You will penetrate into the forest under the guidance of an armed ranger for the tracking. Besides the chimps, you may spot other primates and these include: Varvet Monkey, L’hoest, Blue Monkey, Red-Tailed Monkey, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Black And White Colobus Monkey and many more. Return back to the lodge for Lunch and later drive off to Bwindi national park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking – community Tour
Today wakeup early for a quick breakfast and head out for briefing from the guides, set off for the gorilla tracking in the impenetrable forest. All travelers should be assembled at the briefing point by 8.00am. You need to carry packed lunch, drinking water, rain jacket and walking stick will be provided. After briefing, enter the forest to track gorillas, the time taken to find the magnificent primates is unpredictable since it depends on when the gorillas where last seen. If time permits take an afternoon community walk before retiring for dinner at your lodge.
Day 6 – Departure
Breakfast very early and hit the road back to Kampala. This is the last day of your safari. Drop off at either hotel or airport.
