A 5-day Uganda safari offers a fantastic blend of wildlife, adventure, and cultural experiences. Here’s a sample itinerary that covers some of Uganda’s most famous national parks and attractions.
5 Days Uganda safari
Day 1: To Murchison Falls, Top of the fall
You are picked from your overnight accommodation in Kampala and begin the panoramic drive northwest through the famous Luweero Triangle and Masindi town to Murchison Falls National Park. Continue to the top of the falls where you will have a picnic lunch. The falls are a beauty to behold as Africa’s mightiest river, the Nile, compresses to squeeze through a 7-metre canyon and drops 45 metres below with a thunderous roar, forming a beautiful rainbow. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Game Drive, Launch Trip
After an early morning breakfast, take an early morning game drive along the Buligi Circuit escorted by a ranger guide. Game in this area includes lions, the legendary giant forest hog, large herds of elephants making their way down to the water, buffalo, warthog , bush bucks, etc. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, proceed on a boat cruise upstream the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls at the “Devil’s Cauldron”. Along the river banks, it is a paradise of hippos and crocodiles. Take pictures of Murchison Falls and later return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: To Queen Elizabeth Park
Morning transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park via Hoima. Lunch will be enjoyed en route at the Kolping Hotel in Hoima. Thereafter, continue through the bottom of the East African Rift Valley and verdant lush green countryside to Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Institute of Ecology Bandas. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Game Drive, Launch Trip
After an early morning breakfast at about 6:30am, proceed for a game drive through the Kasenyi area where kobs have their mating grounds and here you will have a high chance of seeing cats like lions and leopards in action. Head on to the northern crater where you will most likely see elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, baboons, waterbuck, etc. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, take a magical launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. You will see solitary buffalo, and a paradise of birdlife. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: To Kampala
After an early morning breakfast, depart to Kampala. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed en route.
