5 days Kenya Birding Tour

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha

Pick up from your hotel and drive through the great North to Lake Naivasha arriving by mid morning for bird walk before time for lunch at the lodge. Lake Naivasha is really a bird sanctuary more than 450 bird species have been recorded.  Here you can study birds of the region such as herons, ospreys, fish eagles, black crakes and lily-trotters. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge/camp of your choice

Day 2: Lake Naivasha-Lake Nakuru

After breakfast depart Naivasha and head for Lake Nakuru well-known for its millions of pink flamingos arriving by midmorning. Here you can have a chance to see some of the common bird species like the lesser and greater flamingoes, African fish eagle, tawny eagle, green wood hoopoes, great white and pink backed pelicans. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge/hotel of your choice.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru-Maasai Mara

After breakfast drive west past Mt Longonot into Maasai Mara game reserve arriving in good time for lunch. This park is famous for its high concentration of wildlife and wonderful scenic views. The park boasts over 450 bird species which includes-hooded vulture, secretary bird, ostrich, white headed vultures, woodpeckers, griffon vulture, Egyptian vultures, Nubian vulture, cardinal Quelea among others. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp/lodge of your choice.

Day 4: Maasai Mara

Full day spent in the park for wildlife and bird watching, the Mara birds come in every color and size. More than 400 bird species have already been recorded here, including birds of prey. Bird lovers can enjoy birds like white tipped crests, ross turacos, orange buffs, pel’s fishing owl, wary guinea fowl, long crested eagles, pygmy falcons and red winged schalows turacos. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge/ camp of your choice.

Day 5: Maasai Mara-Nairobi

After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi with lunch en route arriving in the afternoon.
